Senior CMS Developer (WordPress & Shopify)
We are looking for a Senior CMS Developer with deep full-stack expertise across WordPress and Shopify ecosystems. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering robust custom themes, extending platform functionality through plugins and custom apps/functions, and optimizing client-facing web applications for performance, scalability, and conversion. You will work closely with cross-functional team members, bridging UX/UI design fidelity with clean, standards-compliant code, while proactively maintaining store health and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect, build, and maintain production-ready custom themes and templates from scratch for both WordPress (Full Site Editing/PHP) and Shopify (Liquid, Theme App Extensions, Sections Everywhere).
  • Develop custom WordPress plugins and integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and headless endpoints across both platforms.
  • Implement custom checkout/cart logic, subscription workflows, and product bundle solutions using Shopify Functions and the Storefront API.
  • Optimize website performance to achieve and sustain high Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) through code splitting, caching strategies, and asset optimization.
  • Audit and resolve platform-level security vulnerabilities, API rate limits, database bottlenecks (MySQL), and third-party app conflicts.
  • Manage multi-environment CI/CD deployment pipelines, version control (Git), and staging/production rollouts with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and technical leads to translate complex Figma prototypes into performant, accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA compliant) code.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience specializing in WordPress and Shopify.
  • Mastery of modern PHP (8.x), MySQL, WordPress hooks/filters lifecycle, REST API, and custom post type architecture.
  • Mastery of modern Shopify architecture: Liquid, JSON templates, Shopify CLI 3.x, Theme App Extensions, and GraphQL Admin/Storefront APIs.
  • Advanced front-end proficiency with vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), modern CSS/Tailwind, and build tooling (Vite/Webpack).
  • Proven track record diagnosing and resolving Core Web Vitals performance regressions on content-heavy and e-commerce stores.
  • Strong familiarity with headless CMS integrations, REST/GraphQL endpoints, and secure API handling.
  • Solid experience with Git branching workflows, local environments (Docker/LocalWP/Shopify CLI), and deployment pipelines.
